Socha Fénixe je výzvou, to je jeden z důvodů, proč jsem ji vytvořila jako jednopohledový objekt, přibližující se více 2D rozměru. Je to samonosný apelující "plakát" umístěný před zdí. Mýtus Fénixe prostupuje od starověku různými kulturami napříč světem. Každá kultura jej zobrazuje rozdílně, zůstává mu však stejný charakter zániku a následného sebeobrození prostřednitvím ohně. Rytmus vzniku a zániku, úpadku a povstání tepe i v lidských společenstvích od dob jeho počátků. Důvody a důsledky zániku civilizace či kultury často vycházejí z podobných impulzů a chyb, kterými lidé prošli již v minulosti. Stav v jakém se společnost právě nachází vzniká uvnitř každého z nás. Společnost pak tyto individuální situace jedinců promítá do jednoho celku a je jimi ovlivněna. Jednotlivé fragmenty, které na svých křídlech rodící se (bílý) Fenix nese, představují zbytky částí ekosystému přírody. Některé přírodniny použité v menších objektech, které jsou součástí sochy, jsou fragmenty, které používám ve svých performancích z posledního roku a je možné je tedy vidět i ve videích ze stejného období. Ústřední soška s Ježíšem Kristem je citací akce Greenpeace, kterou aktivisté realizovali v roce 2006 v Rio de Janeiro. Ohořelý kus dřeva pod Kristem je odkaz na Amazonský prales - základ pro diverzitu a klimatické podmínky planety. Prostřednictví lidského konání je Amazonský prales postupně stravován ohněm bez možnosti zpětného obrození.
The sculpture of Phoenix is a challenge, and this is the reason why I have chosen an object to be seen from one viewpoint, close to a 2D object. It is a self-supporting appealing „poster“ placed in front of a wall. The myth of Phoenix is present in different mythologies and cultures throughout the world. Each culture has a slightly different version of the legend, but what remains the same is the fact that the mythical bird dies by fire and is born again. The rhythm of birth and death, rise and fall has been throbbing in human society from time immemorial. The reasons or consequences of the fall of a civilization or culture often stem from similar impulses or mistakes that people made in the past. The state of a society at a given time is moulded by every individual. Society then projects all these individual states into a whole and becomes influenced by them. Individual fragments which are carried on the wings of the reborn (white) Phoenix represent the remnants of parts of nature´s ecosystem. Some of the natural material that I used for smaller objects that form a part of the sculpture are fragments which I have used in my performances in the past year and that is why you may see them in videos from the same period. The principal small statue of Jesus Christ is a quotation of an event of Greenpeace from 2006 in Rio de Janeiro. The burned or charred piece of wood below Jesus Christ is a reference to the Amazon jungle which is of essential importance for diversity and for our planet, but which man is gradually destroying by fire with no opportunity of rebirth.
